Drinking Water

Most Sri Lankan people get their drinking water from a truck supplier who drives around the village with a 500-1'000 liter water tank. A liter of water costs between LKR 2-3 (CHF 0.005). In the supermarkets, a 1 liter bottle costs around 50 times more. The families also need the water for cooking, as there is no clean water pipe. In times of Corona and during the petrol shortage in summer 2022, there were no external water suppliers. We have now built up this important resource on our preschool property and supply 3'000-4'000 liters water every day to the people in the village.
